At podly. we’re all about saving our planet, so you wouldn’t expect any less from us when it comes to the type of packaging we use. To make the full impact however, we need you, our podly. customers to complete the process and make sure you dispose of our packaging how it was intended.
podly. product box and insert:
We’ve designed our product box to be reused at home. You can store your podly. and accessories in there or remove the insert and use the box to store other nick-nacks around the house.
Don’t have a use for the box? Both the box and insert are completely recyclable and any ink used is printed with soy based inks so you know it’s good for the earth! So do your bit and make sure you place the box in the recycling bin.
Mailer Bag:
While our mailer bags look and feel like plastic, they’re not even close! Our mailer bags are made from 100% compostable materials. They are made from PBAT (a copolymer that is completely biodegradable) and PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch)
In a commercial compostable environment, it will break-down within 90 days. In a home compostable environment, they will completely break down to CO2, water and biomass within 24 weeks – leaving no toxins or nasty substances behind!
- ABA Home Compost – Australasian certification for home compostable packaging
- ABA Industrial – Australasian certification for industrially compostable packaging
How do I dispose of my mailer bag?
- Pop it straight into your home compost
- Don’t have compost at home? Place your bag in your green waste bin (don’t forget to check with your council if they accept these compostable materials in there).
- DO NOT, we repeat DO NOT place your mailer bag into a plastic bag in landfill. Remember, the bag needs to be in contact with organic material to start the process of breaking it down into that worm goodness!
